Pokémon of the week - 10 June, 2026

This week's highlight features a Pokémon that went under the radar for quite some time: Sylveon ![]()
With a 51.4% win rate and 16.3% usage over the last 30 days, Sylveon has become a solid alternative to Mega Floette
. One could wonder why play Sylveon over Mega Floette, and rightly so!
Even though the latter has way better stats, picking Sylveon gives a few more options for team building. Sylveon:
- Doesn't take a mega slot
- Has access to Fairy-type Quick Attack, Hyper Beam and Hyper Voice
Fairy-type Hyper Beam compensates for the lack of Floette's Light of Ruin as a nuke, Hyper Voice is a great alternative to Dazzling Gleam, and Quick Attack lets Sylveon pick off weakened, faster opponents. But the real deal is that, when Mega Floette occupies a mega slot with one-dimensional gameplay, Sylveon lets you use top-tier and versatile megas such as Mega Aerodactyl
and Mega Charizard Y
. So you get the fairy power, without the limitation of booking that precious mega slot.
This is precisely why our Sylveon team of this week includes both of the best megas in the current meta:
